Well, it had to happen sooner or later...
Apparently, a Cobra gunship helicopter crashed while filming a segment for Top Gear Korea. The '60s-era machine was racing one of the Korean hosts in a Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 in what appears to be a down-and-back race down an abandoned runway when it hit the ground hard not long after the finish. The helicopter crew are reportedly unhurt, but the video below shows how shocked and stunned everyone else was by the chaos.
Filming a race against aircraft and/or military hardware is a staple of the Top Gear franchise, no matter which country is producing it. The US show just had a segment where host Tanner Foust was hunted by an entire US Airborne regiment while fleeing in a Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG. And of course the British original featured a Lotus Elise trying to dodge an Apache helicopter about 10 years ago.
Needless to say, we're very relieved to hear that no one was hurt, although sadly there is one less Cobra plying the skies.
