What song do you always turn up when driving?

DJKool By Mark Atkinson for MSN Autos

Ah, summer. There's nothing quite like being able to cruise around with the windows down, enjoying the warm weather and appreciating the freer-flowing traffic. Summer radio is also quite different too. Songs are lighter, more energetic. Playlists are chosen to get your head bobbing and your hands tapping, to put you in a great mood for whatever lies around the proverbial corner.

I had that experience this week. With my press car's radio tuned to XM's '90s on 9', the introductory brass band chords to DJ Kool's 'Let Me Clear My Throat' came through the speakers. Bringing back memories of my younger days, I turned up the volume past painful to downright obnoxious. It didn't matter... that reaction happens every time, and I just can't fight it.

So what tune gets you jazzed? What song just makes you smile every time you hear it?

Justin Couture Justin Couture

Reportedly, the first word to come out of his mouth was "car," and since then it's evolved into a life-long passion. Justin is a fan of passionately engineered vehicles, but in general, loves the industry as much as the cars it produces. Justin is the Assistant Editor of MSN Autos, and manages The Passing Lane.

Mark Atkinson Mark Atkinson

Mark has a decade’s experience driving and writing about thousands of vehicles, and two decades before as an inveterate car nut and race fan. He’s also a first-time father, so you’ll need to excuse the occasional half-awake daddy rant about how his daughter’s car-seat won’t fit.

John LeBlanc John LeBlanc

After a career in advertising and marketing, John decided to turn his jaundiced eye towards the world of cars. Since then, he's become one of Canada's most vociferous critics of the industry, delivering objective analysis of the new car scene.
